Cobb County has a history of premier Arts organizations including all the member groups of the United Arts of Cobb as well as many others.  However, support for the Arts even in the best of times is a major challenge, and now with the current economic difficulties, our arts organizations struggle even harder to survive and prosper.

The Cobb Community Foundation (CCF) believes in the vital importance of the Arts to every community and almost of the grants from their Donor Funds are distributed to Arts organizations. In 2002, CCF convened a group of stakeholders to explore all possible options to increase funding for the local Cobb groups. With corporate support from Ron Francis and from Futren Corporation, CCF established the United Arts of Cobb Endowment Fund that year, and this Fund has grown substantially over the past 7 years through the work of the Friends of the United Arts of Cobb, and will continue as a permanent source of Arts funding in our area.

Mission:

  • To strengthen our community by assisting donors with their charitable giving
  • To attract and manage charitable funds
  • To make effective grants
  • To provide leadership to address community needs

The Cobb Community Foundation is:

  • A local non-profit organization overseen by Cobb business and community leaders.
  • A family of Funds set up by individuals, families, companies, and other non-profits to facilitate their charitable giving and pool resources for maximum economies of scale.
  • An efficient and effective tax planning tool for donors. All contributions are fully tax-deductible to the donors.
  • A private foundation “look-alike” that provides professional management of donors’ funds without all the requirements of a private foundation.
  • A flexible vehicle for charitable giving to fulfill donors’ wishes in perpetuity. Donors can use many different kinds of assets to set up a Fund.
  • A way to engage families in charitable giving and leave a legacy for future generations.
